• Literature Resource Center / MLA - These databases contain full-text literary and film criticism.
• Lexis Nexis Academic Universe - Lexis Nexis has full text of thousands of news publications. For film reviews, click on "News," and then "Arts & Sports." Search the title of the movie, narrowing by actor or director if necessary. Choose the appropriate date range.
• New York Times Database (1857-1986) - The New York Times Database has film criticism and commentary which can also be found in the New York Times Film Reviews books (see "Print Resources" below).
• Expanded Academic ASAP - Academic database including psychology, sociology, and general science journals. (Abstract and Full Text)

• JSTOR - Back issues of scholarly journals, covering sociology, economics and population studies. (Full Text)
• Project Muse - scholarly journals, including Camera Obscura and Cinema Journal (Full Text)

• Internet Movie Database (www.imdb.com) - A database of films and television shows with information on credits, production details, plot summaries, and reviews by professionals and readers.
• All Movie Guide  (www.allmovie.com) - A database of films and television shows that also has a good glossary of cinematographic terms.
• Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences  (www.oscars.org) - The official site of the Academy Awards includes a database of all nominees and winners since 1927. Other information about the history of the Awards and the Academy is also available on the site
• Research Guide in Film Studies (www.library.yale.edu/humanities/film/) -
A very comprehensive guide from Yale University Library
