H1. AV MFHDs and Item Records
These are examples of MFHDs and Item Records for AV materials
Note: Call number type, location, item type, and copy number may be set
in options; very efficient when working with groups of like materials
Video (VHS) with one tape
Leader

007 -- Fill in as appropriate -- should match 007 in bib record

008
Holdings
Note: Be consistent when entering the call number -- VHS [space] 5 digits,
using preceding zeros as necessary
Item Record
Note: use Item Type of LNFLICKS for Videos and DVDs of feature
films. LNVIDEO and LNDVD will be used for non-feature films.
(Intial load did not use LNFLICKS so cleanup is required.)
Note: For media materials, use 1 not 0 for 1st copy.
Note: In general, do not use status of "in process"; if used,
make sure it is removed before item is placed on the "Ready for Media
Center" shelf.
Video (VHS) with multiple tapes
Leader
Note: Type of Record has changed from x to v.
007 -- no change due to multiple tapes
008
Note: Completeness has changed from 4 to either 1 (complete) or 2 (incomplete)
Holdings
Note: 866 line(s) added showing holdings; holdings are compressed unless
there are gaps. See ANSI Z39.71 for MARC Holdings.
Item summary
Note: Each physical container receives a barcode and item record. Physical
containers may hold multiple items which would be reflected in the item
records.
Item record

Note: Enum field has item identification information
Video (VHS) with multiple tapes and guide
Use multi-part leader and 008 with a videorecording/DVD 007 per examples
above.
Holdings
Item record for guide filed separately
Note: Use LNVIDEO, LNDVD, or LNFLICKS as appropriate for item type for
the guide (most flicks won't have guides)
Note: Put "guide" in Enum field
Note: Guide should be reflected in bib record 300 |e
DVD with multiple discs in one case
Use multi-part leader and 008 with a videorecording/DVD 007 per examples
above.
Holdings
Item Record
Note: Add piece count.
Note: Unlike example above for material in multiple cases, this title
has 2 discs in one case and, therefore, has no information in Enum.
Note: Holdings (866 fields) and Item Record piece counts were not loaded
during the migration and need to be updated for older titles. Likewise
all copy numbers were loaded as 0 and need to be updated for media.
CD with multiple discs and guidebooks in 2 cases
Use multi-part leader and 007 per examples above
Use 007 for audio CD
Holdings
Item record
Note: Add one item record per container. If guidebook(s), manual(s), etc.
are shelved separately, they would require separate barcodes also.
Note: Add enumeration, check copy number, and add piece count.
