Journal Citation Reports (JCR) presents
quantifiable, statistical data that provide a systematic, objective
way to evaluate the world's leading journals and their impact
and influence in the global research community. It covers more
than 7,500 of the world's most highly cited, peer-reviewed journals
in approximately 200 disciplines, and offers access to citation
statistics from 1997 onward.
LNDL has two editions of JCR:
- The Science Edition, which covers over 6,100 leading international science journals from the ISI database
- The Social Sciences Edition, which covers approximately 1,800 leading international social sciences journals
from the ISI database.
JCR enables users to sort data by clearly defined fields: Impact
Factor, Immediacy Index, Total Cites,
Total Articles, Cited Half-Life, or Journal
Title. JCR enables faculty to identify journals in which to publish,
confirm the status of journals in which they have published, and
identify journals relevant to their research.
LNDL also has the print series Cabell's directory of publishing
opportunities in eight disciplinary areas. Cabell's provides
editorial and submission information, including acceptance rates,
for many prominent journals, and can be an invaluable resource for
submitting authors.
