Vol. 3, No. 2 Spring 2006

Archives!
Nancy Perlman, Archivist
The formal opening of the Loyola College Archives at Loyola/Notre Dame Library took place
on February 1, 2006, complete with refreshments and a display of some of the treasures of
the Archives -- a few of which are pictured here. Guests included administrative staff from
the Library and College, as well as members of the faculty.

The Archives in their temporary home in the Rare Book Room and adjacent exhibition area have been made
available to researchers since the arrival in mid-September of Archivist Nancy Perlman and her student
assistant, Alexandria Van Sickle. After the Library renovation project is completed, the Archives and
other special collections will occupy a custom-designed facility on Level 3. Now that the Archives are
officially open to the public we anticipate that many more researchers from the College community and
outside will use this rich source for information about Loyola's history and evolution.
