Transfer Orientation
January 2011
**updated January 12, 2010**

Congratulations on being accepted as a transfer student to Loyola University Maryland!  We are well aware that you have already transitioned to college life at your former institution, so this orientation is mainly to ease your transition to Loyola.  The orientation is set up so that you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with other transfer students, administrators, and faculty.

The orienation will be taking place in two parts

  • Monday, January 17th: Orientation for all new transfer students.  The sessions will take place 2-4pm in Sellinger Hall 104.  Representatives and student leaders from various offices will come to talk about the academic and social transition at Loyola as well as offer opportunities for future involvement on campus.  Additionally, each new transfer student will be paired with an upper class transfer student to assist with your transition.  There will also be an optional campus tour available for those students who would like one.
  • ***RESCHEDULE*** (DATE IS STILL TBD): Welcome dinner for all new and returning transfer students.  This is a very casual dinner, but will allow transfers to get to know one another in a relaxed atmosphere.  AS OF JANUARY 12, THE DINNER HAS BEEN RE-SCHEDULED.  PLEASE LOOK FOR AN EMAIL INVITE FOR THE NEW DATE/TIME!

When you made your deposit to Loyola, there was an orientation fee included.  This fee fully covers the cost of your transfer orientation.  Please confirm your participation by emailing Sara Scalzo.  In the email, please let me know: if you will plan to attend 1) the orientation and 2) you would like a campus tour.  Commuter students are welcome to park in the Jenkins lot for free on Monday.  To see a map of available parking on campus, click here.
