Orchestra (Partnership with the Greater Baltimore Youth Orchestra):

Loyola College and The Greater Baltimore Youth Orchestra (GBYO) have joined forces. This 80+  member orchestra is open to students through auditions and is available for credit.

What is the GBYO? The Greater Baltimore Youth Orchestra, now in its twentieth-ninth season, performs orchestral masterworks (as written by the composer – never arranged) in four concerts each year.

Rehearsals are held each Sunday 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Loyola’s Timonium campus.

Registering and Course Credit: Students may register for the Orchestra as a course and receive 1.5 credits upon completion of the semester. Please check WebAdvisor in the near future for course number and section. For the Fall 2006 semester, students may register during Drop/Add which is during the first week of classes.

Auditions for Loyola students will be held on the Main Campus on Friday, September 8, 4:00-9:00 in the Recital Room CTW040 on the ground floor of the College Center Fine Arts Wing (below the McManus Theater). Interested students should register during the first week of classes (before auditions). Any student who does not pass the audition can drop the course without penalty.
