A new report from PayScale.com ranks Loyola University Maryland in the top 5 percent of U.S. universities for mid-career salary potential of graduates and No. 10 in the country for best salary potential of undergraduate business majors.

Loyola alumni submitting salary information to PayScale earned a median early career pay of $51,100 and median mid-career pay of $102,000.

“We challenge our students to define success through a lifelong commitment to serving others,” said Susan M. Donovan, Ph.D., acting president of Loyola. “Our alumni live out this challenge in their communities and in their careers. This report reaffirms the latter, that so many Loyola graduates are regularly rewarded by their employers for consistently contributing to meaningful innovation and sustainability in the workplace.”

The 2015-2016 College Salary Report includes 1,063 bachelor’s degree-granting colleges and universities. Loyola is tied at No. 52 overall, one of six Patriot League institutions and four Jesuit institutions ranked in the top 5 percent. The report also ranks Loyola in the top 8 percent of private schools, the top 3 percent of religious schools, the top 8 percent of schools for sports fans, and No. 2 in Maryland.

Along with Loyola, two other Jesuit schools—Santa Clara and Georgetown—rank in the top 10 best business schools this year.

PayScale is an online compensation database. All data used to produce PayScale's rankings were collected from employees who successfully completed PayScale's employee survey. Early-career starting salary data for each school was derived from surveys of full-time employees with five years of experience or fewer in their career or field who hold a bachelor's degree and no higher degrees. Mid-career salary data was derived from surveys of full-time employees with at least 10 years of experience in their career or field who hold a bachelor's degree and no higher degrees.

In April, PayScale’s annual College ROI Report ranked Loyola in the top 6 percent of U.S. universities for return on investment.
