Alum Creates Endowed Scholarship for Economics Students

As the economics department celebrates its 40th academic year, alumni and faculty joined together to renew the Sellinger School's partnerships with economics alumni and business professionals in the Baltimore community.

In a video of the event, Tom "T.K." Kuegler, '94, pledged to create an annual scholarship for a Sellinger School economics student in the name of John Jordan, professor emeritus of economics.

Kuegler is a managing partner at Wasabi Ventures, an incubator, venture capital, and consulting firm. In addition to speaking in an economics class during Outside In week in the fall, he has worked with several economics classes at Loyola, on the undergraduate and graduate level, to provide live case studies from his firm.

"Interactions with faculty like John Jordan make the Loyola University Maryland education special," said Kuegler. "I was lucky enough to have him as a teacher and it was my honor to be able to be the one to make the formal announcement of this scholarship."
