Internship Challenge Seeks Real-World Experience for Loyola Students Willing to add a hardworking, well-prepared student to your team for summer 2010? If so, consider submitting an opportunity to Loyola's Internship Challenge, which seeks to attract at least 200 paid and unpaid positions for rising juniors and seniors. Students of all Loyola majors are welcome to participate in the program, but must complete an application, receive a résumé critique, and attend a mandatory workshop to be considered for a position. “Our students are going to enter one of the most challenging, competitive job markets in decades,” said CreSaundra Sills, Ph.D., director of Loyola's Career Center. “To stand out, they're going to need real-life work experiences that not only help them hone their technical expertise, but offer them the opportunity to develop the professional qualities that employers expect. Internships are an ideal way of gaining these skills, no matter what field a student is interested in pursuing.” Internships can take place in all states and can be either existing opportunities or ones newly created for the program. To submit an opportunity, visit www.loyola.edu/alumni. For more information, contact Michele Schuler in the Career Center at 410-617-2232. If your Loyola student will be a junior or senior next fall, please encourage him or her to contact the Career Center for more information on the Internship Challenge and how to participate. Students of all class years are encouraged to connect with the Career Center early in their academic careers to begin talking about how to become as prepared as possible to pursue the career path of their choice. The Internship Challenge is a partnership between the Career Center, the Sellinger School of Business and Management, and the offices of alumni relations, parent relations, corporate and foundation relations, and sophomore initiatives. | ||
