Ridley Athletic Complex Celebrates Grand Opening March 13

The highly anticipated Ridley Athletic Complex (RAC) will welcome its first spectators on Saturday, March 13, as the men’s lacrosse team hosts pre-season No. 1 Duke. Game time is tentatively set for 3 p.m.

Loyola students can an enjoy a pre-game tailgate on the Evergreen campus, while kids' zone activities will take place at the RAC. The event will feature opening remarks from Loyola President Brian F. Linnane, S.J.

"The Loyola community has been looking forward to the opening of the Ridley Athletic Complex for so long. I am delighted that the big day is drawing near," said Fr. Linnane. "I expect us to have a sell-out crowd in the stands as we formally dedicate this facility—which will become such an important part of the Loyola experience—in honor of my predecessor, the late Fr. Harold Ridley, who was its first champion."

The 6,000-seat Ridley Athletic Complex will be home to the men’s and women’s soccer and lacrosse teams, and will also feature the Sean Lugano, '95, Memorial Field for practices and club rugby; training facilities; athletic staff offices; presidential, VIP, and press boxes; concession areas; and merchandise booths.

Additional information on the grand opening event and tickets for the game will be available in the coming weeks.
