Loyola College in Maryland's Sellinger School of Business and Management has been ranked No. 30 in U.S. News & World Report's annual "Best Business School Specialty Rankings: Part-time MBA Programs." All 426 master's programs in business accredited by AACSB International were surveyed in fall 2008 and early 2009. These rankings are based on ratings by business school deans and directors of master's programs. They were asked to nominate up to 10 programs for excellence in each of the areas listed and the schools receiving the most votes appear in the list. Out of the 32 schools listed, 11 schools are Jesuit. "I am thrilled that the Sellinger School's graduate business programs have been honored by the leaders of the nation's most respected schools of business," said Karyl B. Leggio, Ph.D., dean of the Sellinger School of Business and Management. "Across all of Sellinger's graduate programs the commitment to our students centers on providing a quality academic experience grounded in reflection and leadership. This perspective equips them with the essential skills to lead, learn and serve in a rapidly changing world." For Ann Attanasio, director of graduate business programs, Sellinger's rank in the U.S. News & World Report, and the inclusion of 10 other Jesuit schools on the list, is a validation of the programs' value-centered approach to education and her staff's commitment to providing a quality, well-rounded education as a Jesuit institution. "We are so honored to receive this recognition," said Attanasio. "Our faculty members go well beyond teaching fundamental business skill sets and theory. Through an integrated approach, they challenge students to think broadly and deeply about what they are learning and what they need to know more about. Our shared goal is to continue the development of students' capacity as critical thinkers, ethical decision makers and thought leaders within their profession, their community engagement and their personal lives."
