Maureen Faux named Loyola's director of graduate admission

Maureen Faux has been named director of graduate admission for Loyola College in Maryland. Interim director for the past year, Faux will assume her permanent position on July 16.

“The advancement of our graduate programs is a critical component of Loyola’s strategic plan, and I look forward to contributing to this important effort,” said Faux. “I am particularly eager to continue to enhance collaboration between the office of graduate admission and Loyola’s academic departments.”

Faux joined Loyola as an associate director of graduate admission in 2006 and was named interim director of graduate admission in 2008. Previously, Faux served as California regional admission officer for the College of Idaho and senior academic admission counselor for St. Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif. From 1991-2001, Faux operated her own educational consulting firm, Welby-Faux Associates, based in Roseville, Calif. Earlier in her career, Faux held positions with Pepperdine University, the American University, and the International Trade Association. Faux holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Arcadia University, an M.A. in education from Pepperdine University, and an M.Ed. in school counseling from Loyola College in Maryland.

“Maureen’s combination of experience and proven success in the profession, knowledge of Loyola and the great depth and breadth of its graduate programs, commitment to our Jesuit identity, and outstanding working relationships with our faculty and administrators makes her the ideal person to fill this vital position,” said Marc M. Camille, vice president for enrollment management and communications, who led the national search resulting in Faux’s selection.
