Strategies for Success is a one-day pre-fall workshop offered for incoming first-year students with disabilities. The workshop will focus on study skills, time-management, and taking care of yourself during your first year at Loyola. Students with learning disabilities, ADHD, physical disabilities, and psychological disabilities have participated in past years. We will address the following topics in an interactive way throughout the day: - How do I request accommodations?
- Who can help me develop a schedule that emphasizes my strengths? How do I advocate for myself and my needs?
- Where are resources available on campus to help me with study skills and time management?
- What do I do when I am stressed out?
The workshop cost is $25 dollars ($50 for students who register and cancel). Students who attend this workshop will be able to move into their rooms on Wednesday, Aug. 31 and attend a welcome dinner with their families that evening. The workshop will be held on Thursday, Sept. 1 from 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m., and includes all meals.
