Equipment replacement in labs. Equipment in computer labs is replaced every three years. Classroom computers are replaced every two years. Reserving a computer lab. The asset manager meets with all departments to schedule replacement of computers. Personal computers are replaced every four years, while laptops are replaced every three. If a department has Loyola owned unwanted electronics and would like to have them removed, they can call the Office of Technology Support at ext. 5555. Here at Loyola University Maryland, we prevent our retired electronics from entering the national waste system by donating our outdated equipment to other Jesuit schools and other non-profit organizations. As an alternate we use CDM (Computer Donation Management), located in Baltimore, Md. an e-Cycling company to recycle our obsolete electronics and potentially hazardous material.
