This page will allow you to change your Loyola password, set challenge questions for self-service (used in the event that you forget your password), and reset a lost password. All Loyola applications, with the exception of Loyola Live@edu and Colleague, use the same password. Changing your password here will change it for all of the Loyola applications you use, except for the two mentioned above. After changing your Loyola password, please log off your computer and then log in again. If you use applications in which you hardcoded your password (ie. iPhone Exchange Mail, Entourage Exchange Mail, or WebDAV for G drive access), please update the password for those applications. To change your password, click here. To set challenge questions for self-service, click here. Log in with your current Loyola username and password. To reset a lost password, click here. Using this tool will NOT reset your password for Loyola Live@edu. If you are a student or alumni and wish to change your Loyola Live@edu password, please follow this link. If you need assistance, please contact the Technology Service Center at 410-617-5555. All users are required to choose a secure password. The minimum requirements for a secure password are that:
- It must have at least six (6) characters.
- It must contain at least one (1) number.
- It must contain at least one (1) lowercase character.
To make your password even more secure than the above requirements necessitate, we further recommend that your password: - Be at least eight (8) characters long.
- Include a combination of upper-case letters, lower-case letters, numbers, and special symbols such as !@#$%^&*()[]\;',./{}|:"<>?
We would also like to suggest that you never write down your password, in case someone finds the paper it is written on. What is the point of all these password requirements? Common techniques used by identity thieves and other network infiltrators include trying every word in the dictionary, every combination of six or more numbers, or every possible name or date. With the current state of computer technology, this kind of trial and error is not only possible, but also quickly accomplished. Simply combining letters and numbers in a password will greatly decrease the likelihood that it will be "hacked." The additional suggestions will make a password even more difficult to guess. Your private information will be safer as a result. How do I know what my initial password is? Unless you have been notified otherwise by the College, your initial password is "loy" and the last seven digits of your Loyola ID number which is located directly under your name on your ID card (e.g., loy1234567). What if I need more assistance? For further assistance with this or any other Loyola technology, please contact the Office of Technology Support by phone at x5555 or by e-mail at ots@loyola.edu.
