He has served as Director of Addictions at Taylor Manor Hospital and Director of Outpatient Services for the Saint Luke Institute. He has written five books in the areas of mental health, addictions, and integration of psychology and spirituality: Counseling Problem Gamblers: A Self-Regulation Manual for Individual and Family Therapy, Academic Press; Psychotherapy with Priests, Ministers, and Vowed Religious, Psychosocial Press; Help for Scrupulosity and Religious Compulsions, Paulist Press; A Minister's Handbook of Mental Disorders, Paulist Press; and Why are You Worrying ?, Paulist Press. Dr. Ciarrocchi has published empirical research on pathological gambling, personality profiles of addicted persons, and gender images in relation to images of God.
