Loyola's Designation Celebration

Fr. Linnane addressed the campus community at Loyola's designation celebration on Sept. 25, 2009, stating, "The essential point is that what we celebrate today is a genesis, not a terminus. We celebrate the beginning of a voyage."

John Early Society Regional Reception

This summer Ed ’74, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Ellen Hanway opened their home in Avalon, New Jersey to alumni, parents and friends for a John Early Society Regional Reception.

Kevin and Mary Ellen Finnerty, parents of Collin, '10 and Molly, '12, hosted a John Early Society regional reception for alumni, parents, and friends this summer at their home in Westhampton, New York.

2009 Golden Greyhounds Dinner Dance

Fr. Linnane heard great stories about Loyola in the 1930's from Ray Cooper, '36, the oldest alumnus attending the 2009 Golden Greyhounds celebration. The annual Golden Greyhounds Dinner Dance attracts nearly 600 alumni who graduated 50 years ago and more.

Scholarship Appreciation Dinner

Fr. Linnane thanked all of Loyola's scholarship donors for their support at the annual appreciation event, which brings together donors and students. He encouraged the students, including Liza Zaichenko, '11, one of the scholarship recipients, to take advantage of the opportunities being given to them.

100th Anniversary of Basketball

During the 2008-09 season, the Loyola men's basketball program celebrated its 100th anniversary. At the gala celebration, Fr. Linnane heard stories about the team playing in what is now McGuire Hall from longtime fans like Pat McDonough and Lucy Adler.

Class of 1974 Crab Feast

Fr. Linnane joined Ed Hanway, '74, chairman of the Board of Trustees, and his classmates as they enjoyed a crab feast in Hug Lounge to celebrate their 25th reunion.

2008 Business Leader of the Year

Fr. Linnane awarded the 2008 Business Leader of the Year honor to Gerry Holthaus, '71, chairman and CEO of Algeco Scotsman. Holthaus is the second Loyola alumnus to receive this prestigious honor in the history of the award.

Loyola Golf Invitational

At the inaugural Loyola Golf Invitational at Caves Valley Golf Club, Fr. Linnane heard about the day on the course from Bobby Merrick and Brad Bennett, '87.

Presidential Inauguration

Fr. Linnane's remarks at his October 2005 inauguration marked his first official address as Loyola's 24th President.

Fr. Linnane addresses the College Community and special guests at Loyola's 2008 Maryland Day celebration, an annual event celebrating the founding of the state that most recently honored several Maryland residents who have dedicated their lives to serving their communities.
