| | | 2006-07 Team Summary This marked the second year of existence for the Club Tennis team at Loyola College. The initial hardships of establishing a new club sport finally were settled, making this an extremely exciting year for all of the teammates. The club was successful in recruiting new members, who have added a great deal of depth to the team, as well as contributed to the overall success of the club. In addition to new team members, the tennis club also was able to fill the coaching position. Coach Young Lee is a highly qualified tennis instructor who has proved to be an asset to the team. He has provided structure to practices, and works with players through running important drills and focusing on individual needs. The newly formed USTA Mid-Atlantic League created a useful network for area schools to communicate with one another and to set up competition. Through the league’s website clubs are able to post schedules, results, as well as pictures. During the year the tennis team participated in matches against schools such as John’s Hopkins, GW, UMBC, Georgetown, and Towson. Also, for the first time, the team was able to compete in the Mid-Atlantic Sectional Tournament and the University of Maryland, College Park. In summary, this has been an extremely successful year for the club tennis team. This is due, in large part, to the dedication and enthusiasm demonstrated among the entire team. |
