Welcome to the Loyola Sailing Club 

2006-07 Team Summary

Our season this year started out promising and ended on a less positive note. Our first regatta, Central #1 hosted by OCC at Toms River, NJ, was one of two qualifiers for the WAR Memorial Regatta. At that regatta, we placed 4^th overall out of 15 schools and landed a seed at WAR. The second regatta we did well at was the Tom Curtis Regatta held by Georgetown. There we placed 10^th out of 17 schools, which was remarkably well considering the stiff competition.

However, during the course of the season we ended up either canceling or withdrawing from regattas due to lack of interest in attending and people dropping out at last minute. With no one to replace them, some events we had to “No Show” for, which ultimately puts your school very far down on the scheduling pool for next year.

At the WAR regatta we did not do very well, but most of that can be attributed to the extreme conditions, which resulted in only three races sailed for that weekend. The fact that we did qualify for that regatta is important in itself, and as a team we just need to focus on more consistent finishes.
