Loyola College is a member of
the ICPSR, an organization
of institutions with the mission of supporting social research.
The Consortium archives major data sets, mostly from USA studies
(especially government surveys), but some from cross-national
research. Topics include economic data, opinion surveys, crime,
health, aging, poverty, voting, etc. This data is available at
no cost to member institutions.
In addition, ICPSR conducts a summer training program in quantitative
methods at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. A schedule
of courses is available.
ICPSR awards one travel grant to each member institution to cover
airfare to Ann Arbor. Low-cost accommodations are available on
the UM campus. Program fees and living expenses are the responsibility
of the individual and/or institution (e.g. through faculty development
funds).
If you are interested in exploring the availability of data or
want to find out more about the summer research program, please
contact Mark Peyrot (ext.
