Friday, May 30 Early Check-In for Campus Accommodations 7 - 11 p.m. Welcome back to Loyola College! Whether you are staying on campus or are staying elsewhere in Baltimore, use this night to relax and prepare for the big weekend ahead. If you are from out-of-town and need suggestions on restaurants, hotels or area attractions, contact the Office of Alumni Relations at 410-617-2475. Saturday, May 31 Service Experience 10 a.m. - Noon Lunch to follow Still have fond memories of Loyola community service projects, service-learning courses and social justice discussions? At this year’s Milestone Reunion, we’ve planned a unique program designed to help you recapture those experiences, nurture friendships and connect with communities in Baltimore. A Loyola shuttle will transport you and any family member age 14 and older to Pen Lucy, a neighborhood just south of Loyola’s Evergreen Campus. There, you’ll enjoy a two-hour experience with Rebuilding Together Baltimore, an organization that rebuilds homes and revitalizes neighborhoods in Baltimore. We’ll host a reflection forum and provide lunch when you return to campus. Back to Class Session 1 / 10:30 – 11:15 a.m. Andrea Giampetro-Meyer, J.D. Law and Social Responsibility Shattering the Political Glass Ceiling With Decision 2008 rapidly approaching, join Andrea Giampetro-Meyer, recipient of local and national awards for teaching and excellence in scholarship, in a compelling examination of gender and race equality and justice in politics. Session 2 / 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Dr. Sue Abromaitis, English J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis - Friends of Fantasy Learn about the lives, works and unique friendship of two of England’s best-known authors of fantasy, J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, from Dr. Sue Abromaitis, a member of the Loyola faculty for more than four decades. Campus Tours Session 1 / 10 – 11:30 a.m. Session 2 / 2 – 3:30 p.m. Return to the historic Evergreen Campus for a tour of the exciting structural renovations and technological advances leading your alma mater into the 21st century. Historical information will be provided, and alumni from all years will marvel at how Evergreen has grown and developed over the years. Down by the Boardwalk Family Picnic 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Grab your visor, sun screen and flip-flops and get ready for good times and great food Down by the Boardwalk! You and your family will enjoy an afternoon of non-stop fun in the sun with arts and crafts, a bounce house, a magician and much more! Plus, we are serving up a full lunch buffet! Kids of all ages will enjoy this exciting family affair, always one of Milestone Reunion’s most popular events! Milestone Reunion Reception 6 - 7:30 p.m. Your special evening begins with a reception on the picturesque campus, mingling with classmates, faculty and administrators. Anniversary Reunion Dinner 7:30 p.m. – Midnight Following the Milestone Reunion Reception, you and your classmates will take a short walk to the Andrew White Student Center for a private dinner featuring a variety of delectable entrees, side dishes, tempting desserts and an open bar. Late Night 9:30 p.m. – Midnight Live entertainment is only a few quick steps away in McGuire Hall. Come and dance the night away! Sunday, June 1 Reunion Mass 10 a.m. Alumni Memorial Chapel Worship at this special Mass for all Reunion classes in the historic Alumni Memorial Chapel. Alumni will participate in the Mass as lectors, cantors, gift bearers and Eucharistic ministers. Reunion Farewell Brunch 11 a.m. Andrew White Student Center Cap off this memorable weekend with a delicious brunch buffet in the Andrew White Student Center. Back to top |
