Fines & Appeals: Any traffic violations issued to personnel or students states that you have (10) days to appeal any fine. The appeal will go before the applicable appeal board. The appeals for students are reviewed by the Student Government Finance Committee. The appeals for employees are reviewed by a Board comprised of 2 staff members, 2 administrators and 2 faculty members. Once your request goes to the appeal board, it will be reviewed and a judgment will be made. You will receive a denial or granted status. The decision of the board will be final.

Parking Rules & Regulations: A complete copy of the University's rules and regulations is given to everyone who registers their car, click here for a copy. Additional copies can be obtained at the Parking Desk at Student Administrative Services in Maryland Hall, Room 140. In the fall of 1997 the University began to enforce towing regulations for violators. Anyone receiving 3 violations will be towed to Pollard's Garage (3 Ensor Ave. Baltimore, MD 21204, 410-823-1808) at the owner's expense. For additional information on any parking matter, contact Carolyn Jenkins at x2423.

Frequently asked questions about Parking:

1. How do I obtain a "visitor or temporary" parking permit for weekdays and weekends?
You can obtain a visitor pass in advance at SAS Maryland Hall, Room 140 from 7:00a.m. - 7:30p.m. Monday - Thursday and Friday 7:00a.m. - 4:30p.m.. You can get a pass at all times in the Public Safety Department at the Physical Plant Bldg., Room 220. Everyone parked in all lots at Loyola except the Jenkins Lot should have a hang tag, sticker, or temporary pass. If you do not have any of these, you can be ticketed and towed.

2. Where is the best parking spot for visitors on weekdays and weekends?
Visitors either coming to see students or doing business with the Loyola community can park at the Cathedral lot or at the York Road lot.  Paid parking is available at the Jenkins lot.

3. I live in McAuley, but I have a group meeting with my classmates in Newman. Can I drive my car and park at the "2 hour" meters?
All students can park in 2 hour metered spaces and feed the meters. Meters are free after 5:00p.m. Monday-Friday and on weekends.

4. What should I do, if I have a West Side sticker, but all lots are full, can I park illegally? Will I be ticketed?
Never park illegally especially in fire lanes, handicapped spots, or other areas designated as a "Tow Away Zone". Your vehicle will be towed at your expense. Park temporarily in a visitor's spot on the York Road lot and call Public Safety at x.5010 and tell them where cars are parked illegally. They will go and ticket the violators. After 3 tickets, cars will be towed away. You paid for these parking spaces and deserve to park there. Unfortunately, you may have to help us enforce the rule by calling Public Safety.

5. When my parents come to visit, they usually bring a lot of stuff for me. Is there a loading zone where they can park?
See the answer to question #2. Also remember the Jenkins lot is free on Sundays. The pull off spot on Charles Street near the Lower Courtyard is now a 30 minute unloading/ loading zone.

6. I have a class at the College of Notre Dame; do we have a shuttle for CND?
We do not have a shuttle to CND. However, some of the shuttles stop at the Fitness and Aquatics Center lot. CND is only a short walk across the street from here.

7. Where do I put my sticker?
Stickers are to be placed on the driver's side back window(lower left corner). If someone pulls your sticker off from the outside, it will not help him or her because it will not adhere to another window again. Students can be ticketed for a registration violation if their sticker is not on the car's back window.

8. I have a Jeep. My friend has a convertible, Where do we put our stickers?
Put it on your rear bumper on the drivers side. The Officers will look there for your sticker.

9. When can Graduate students park at the Cathedral?
Graduate students with valid hang tags can park at the Cathedral Monday-Friday, 6:00a.m. - 11:00p.m..

10. Do Graduate students have to pay to register their car?
Graduate students must pay $10 for their hang tag for the Baltimore campus. Hang tags will be issued for the Timonium and Columbia campuses without a fee. However, this hang tag is not acceptable for classes at Baltimore since the main campus offers a shuttle service.

11.What are the hours of operation for Jenkins Lot?
Jenkins lot is a paid lot from 7:00a.m. to 10:00p.m., Monday-Thursday, Friday 7:00a.m. to 8:00p.m., Saturday, 7:00a.m. to 7:00p.m., and Sundays are free. Parking for the 1st half-hour is free. It is $2 for the first hour and then $3 per hour thereafter. The maximum rate per day is $24.

12. As a Graduate student, am I allowed to park at the Butler lot after 4:00p.m.?
Butler lot is designated a convenience lot for Faculty, Administrators, and Staff. They have paid $300 to park on this lot from 6:00a.m.-4:00p.m. weekdays. It is open to anyone all other times.

13. Can you park in the "Service Vehicles Only" spots after 5:00p.m.?
No, you may never park there. All reserved parking is 24 hour, unless indicated.
