Workshops

BOOKMAKING WITH ALISON AWES

Over twenty primary and elementary teachers and assistants enjoyed the bookmaking workshop with Alison Awes on Nov, 7th. Everyone appreciated the opportunity to make beautiful things for the children, either to use in their classes or to teach simple bookmaking lessons to older primary and elementary children. The hands-on nature of the presentation leant itself to a relaxed and pleasant day. Material-making helpers Naoko Ogawa and Nicky David supplemented Alison’s clear, careful instructions and demonstrations, and everyone left with an assortment of attractive samples. One teacher expressed delight that "we can use what we learn right away!" We look forward to future hands-on workshops to enhance and beautify the classrooms at area schools.
