Sellinger school profile with text, 'Loyola Business Institute'

The Loyola Business Institute is a 3-week intensive summer program that provides humanities, social sciences, and natural and applied sciences majors with the fundamental business knowledge and skills necessary for any career. Upon completion of the program, students earn 6 credits. The program is tentatively scheduled for July 31-August 18, 2017. 

Coursework

Through integrated coursework, a strong emphasis on principled leadership and the opportunity to practice decision making in settings that simulate actual business situations, students are prepared for engaging careers in for-profit as well as non-profit organizations. The courses are enhanced by co-curricular activities that allow students to interact with business professionals and observe the application of skills and knowledge presented in the classroom.

Career planning

Students completing the program will have foundational knowledge and skills in the core areas of business as well as an understanding of and an appreciation for the importance of principled leadership within any organization. The Loyola Business Institute also includes personal development for professional success in any career by enhancing skills in the areas of communication, teamwork and the development and delivery of presentations. Opportunities for career guidance are also available.
