Marketing
Loyola's marketing department offers courses in both the undergraduate and graduate business programs. Undergraduate students can earn a BBA degree with a concentration in marketing, as well as minor in marketing. For graduate students who are enrolled in the Evening MBA program, a marketing specialization is offered.
The marketing discipline is designed to prepare students for the many opportunities in the field of marketing. The study of marketing includes marketing principles, personal selling and sales management, consumer behavior, advertising, marketing strategy, and international marketing. These courses are designed to provide our students with the appropriate knowledge and skills to understand the function of marketing in the firm and in society and to be effective decision makers. In addition to offering challenging courses, the marketing department sponsors the Loyola Marketing Association.
Marketing department faculty offices are located on the 4th floor of Sellinger Hall on Loyola's main campus in Baltimore. The department chair, Gerard A. Athaide, is located in room 414; he can also be reached via email (gathaide@loyola.edu) or telephone (410.617.2858).
Most recently, BusinessWeek ranked Loyola's Sellinger School No. 15 in marketing management in its fifth annual “2012 Best Undergrad B-Schools.”
