A whole world of possibilities and opportunities await you in accounting. It begins in college in your pursuit of an accounting degree and continues when you enter the working world. Accounting provides challenges and unlimited opportunities if you desire a successful and rewarding position in business, government, industry or public accounting. It is truly the degree with 360 degrees of freedom. Starting salaries are among the highest for all university graduates and the potential earnings over a lifetime are excellent. In Loyola's accounting program, opportunities are available to join student accounting organizations and network with peers and others who can provide guidance. After graduation, you can broaden your career options by becoming a certified public accountant (CPA) or a certified management accountant (CMA). The program is accredited by AACSB - The International Association for Management Education. The Association is the only agency that accredits accounting programs in the United States and only 169 of the thousands of programs around the world are accredited. The Accounting Faculty can be located on the 3rd floor of the Sellinger Building on the Evergreen Campus. The department chair, Al Michenzi, and the department secretary, Josie Munoz, can be found in room 318.
