ADMISSION

Student Organizations

The accounting program sponsors two local chapters of national accounting student organizations. Both organizations give students the opportunity to meet with business professionals and to participate in speaker meetings and social activities.

Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) is a national scholastic and professional accounting fraternity. The primary objective of the fraternity is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the field of accounting. This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting; providing opportunities for self-development and association among members and practicing accountants, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility. Membership requirements for BAP include high academic achievement and community service.  Loyola College Student Chapter of BAP.

The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) is the leading professional organization devoted exclusively to management accounting and finance professionals. Membership in IMA provides the opportunity to keep abreast of the changes affecting the accounting and finance profession, as well as provide new insights and ideas. Membership is open to all students with an interest in accounting. Loyola Student Chapter Home Page.

Accounting students are also eligible for membership in Loyola's Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, the Honor Society for AACSB-Accredited Business Programs and in Alpha Sigma Nu, The Honor Society of Jesuit Colleges and Universities.
