Mark Johnson, Ph.D., assistant professor of finance at the Sellinger School, says that businesses have to stay competitive amid FAA furloughs and budget cuts to attract consumers: "If something's unavailable at a local retailer, consumers are smart, they adapt very quickly they're going to get in their car and they're going to go down the street and they'll purchase it somewhere else."
