Tech Talk: Is the Flipped Classroom Right for You?

April 9, 2014
11:45 AM-1:00 PM | The Technology Training Center, 300 Radnor Rd.

Join faculty expert, Dr. Suzanne Keilson, a panel of academic leaders and your Loyola colleagues for an interactive discussion of the flipped classroom. “Flipping the classroom” has become a buzzword in the last several years. But how does it really work? In this learning model students gain first exposure to new content outside of class, usually via reading, video lectures, then use class time to assimilate that knowledge.

This model contrasts with the traditional model where “first exposure” occurs via lecture in class. Advanced cognitive work (application, analysis, synthesis, evaluation) occur in the classroom, where students have the support of their peers and instructor.
