Spotlight
John Gray finds teaching at Loyola to be intrinsically satisfying and has felt this way for the past 24 years. He and his faculty colleagues embrace the Jesuit academic culture of teaching excellence in a context where the mission is to create educational opportunities designed to enable students to be men and women for others in a changing and diverse world.

Gray finds that graduate students choose education in a way that undergraduates can not because they are simply not as mature or experienced. “Our MBA students know what they want. They are literate, experienced, and interesting and interested people,” he says.

As a professor of law, he wants students to have an informed understanding of the law as it is applicable to managing and leading organizations domestically and globally. “I find that my students have a very strong interest in the law,” he says. “I think they find it personally and professionally applicable and like the qualitative, human aspect of it.”

Borrowing an analogy from a colleague, Gray describes the degree as both a ticket and an experience. Recognized for its significant content well-taught, Loyola’s MBA offers credibility within an intellectual framework that adds relevance and perspective. “It’s the program of choice in the Baltimore metropolitan area.”
