Master of Business Administration, Class of 2001 Where do you live?: Baltimore, Maryland Employer: Continental Realty Corporation Baltimore, Maryland Spotlight Having come from a liberal arts background (an English major), I underwent the full 51-credit load to get my MBA. Taking classes part-time in the evening during Fall, Spring and Summer sessions, I finished in just over three years. What was the most important thing you learned while attending Loyola? The Negotiations and Dispute Resolutions course has been extremely helpful to me day-to-day. I lease commercial properties for a living, so I am constantly negotiating business agreements with tenants. In addition, the people I met on the European Study Tour have turned into great friends and reliable sources of information from various backgrounds and business areas. What advice would you give to current or prospective students? Make the most of the program as a networking opportunity. It is great to build a database of people you can call on for business insights and advice. How has your graduate degree advanced your career or personal goals? I was hired for my present job by another alumnus of the Sellinger School MBA program. The broad-based business education the MBA provided has helped me with review of tenant business plans and understanding of financing, accounting, and taxissues relevant to commercial real estate.
