| Claudia A. Morelli, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is an assistant professor in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Emmanuel College, Boston, MA. After completing her Master of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island, Kingston, Rhode Island, she became a certified speech-language pathologist and worked in skilled nursing facilities and hospitals. In 2006, Dr. Morelli received her doctoral degree from the University of Florida. Her dissertation focused on improving word finding deficits in adults with early probable Alzheimer disease. While at the University of Florida she had the opportunity to teach undergraduate students, and from these experiences developed a great appreciation for teaching. Dr. Morelli's research interests include developing theoretically-based interventions for individuals with probable Alzheimer disease, and plans to pursue programs for enhancing communication and quality of life not only for these individuals, but also for their caregivers. | |
