| Dr. Lisa Schoenbrodt is a Professor in the Deartment of Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology. She received her B.A. from University of Maryland College Park, her M.S. from James Madison University and her Ed.D. from The Johns Hopkins University. She is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed in the State of Maryland. While she has been at Loyola for fourteen years, her previous experience included a speech-language pathologist for the Howard County Public School System in Maryland, the Maryland Rehabilitation Center, and the Kennedy Krieger Institute. She also was the managing partner for a private practice for six years. At Loyola, she has been Chair for the past five years and has taught numerous undergraduate and graduate courses in the department. Currently, she teaches Professional and Technical Writing at the undergraduate level, and Language Disorders in Children and Adolescents at the graduate level. She was supervising speech-language pathologist in the Multidisciplinary Assessment Center at Belvedere Square. Dr. Schoenbrodt's clinical and research specialty areas include: language learning disabilities in children and adolescents, pediatric traumatic brain injury, and language development in post-institutionalized children. She authored many articles in these areas and co-authored and edited three books, including Childhood Communication Disorders: Organic Bases, and Communication Disorders and Interventions in Low Incidence Pediatric Populations (both from Singular-Thompson publications) and Children with Traumatic Brain Injury: A Parent's Guide (from Woodbine House). She also has written and received several Shriver Grants and is the author and principal investigator for the current Partnership Grant with the Maryland State Department of Education, which targets the training of speech-language pathologists in geographic regions of high need in Maryland.
