St. Mary's/Loyola Partnership

St. Mary's/Loyola Partnership

What's Happening

When the partnership was established, St. Mary’s conducted a needs analysis, and from this analysis, an action plan was formulated. The action plan consisted of dozens of project, program and initiative ideas. Much has been completed, and there is plenty still in the works! Below, some of the collaborative action items are outlined:

  • Professional Development relationship with Loyola’s new School of Education - providing curricular support, faculty development workshops and more
  • Marketing Task Force with comprehensive marketing plan implemented
  • Seeking grant opportunities
  • Technology advancements (i.e. equipment, network connectivity, Web site development)
  • Speech and hearing screenings at Loyola's Belvedere Square Clinical Centers, and follow-up evaluations when indicated at very low cost
  • Speech Pathology/Audiology program for Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4-year-old classes offered through the Clinical Centers
  • Enrollment and need-based scholarships to Loyola's Saturday Scholars/Summer Scholars literacy programs for students needing reading support
  • Numerous enrichment programs run by Loyola students offered on a weekly basis focusing on homework help, math tutoring, art, photography, science and reading
  • More than 100 Loyola volunteers per semester work with members of the St. Mary’s community
  • On-campus field trips to the Art Gallery, sports games and science labs
  • Middle School Retreat with Campus Ministry
  • Many one time projects and donations include: involvement in the BFASA Hats & Gloves Drive, MBA office's supply drive, participation in the BSA Fashion Show, Student Development Bake Sale, Evergreen supply drive, furniture exchange, invitations to varsity basketball games, soccer clinics, Engineering Design contests, Biology lab projects with Loyola's Tri Beta club, and much more!

A partnership Steering Committee that consists of representatives from St. Mary’s School, St Mary’s Parish, Loyola College, the Archdiocese of Baltimore, and the School Board meets to discuss projects and initiatives and offer support and guidance to the collaborative efforts.
