Loyola’s dedicated alumni community has played an important part in the support of many essential College programs and projects, from facility construction to endowment growth to the advancement of academic initiatives. Loyola alumni have also been critical to the success of the College’s Preparing Tomorrow capital campaign. As of November 30, the alumni campaign, which is focused on soliciting gifts and commitments up to the $100,000 level, has raised more than $2.7 million toward the campaign, which has surpassed its original $80 million goal and reached over $91 million. Support from Alumni for other giving levels of the capital campaign also has been impressive. As of November 30, total Alumni giving to the campaign has exceeded $21 million. Some notable gifts include: the largest individual gift in the College’s history of $7 million numerous first-time $100,000 gifts a myriad of support at other leadership levels ranging from four figures to seven figures
Specific groups of Alumni have helped support the campaign across the country. Alumni regional campaigns in New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. have generated significant gifts to the campaign, as have campaign efforts in other regions with strong concentrations of Loyola alumni, including Florida, Atlanta, Delaware and Massachusetts. The Class of 1968 has also embarked on a special campaign to raise $750,000 in honor of its 40th Reunion. In addition to participating in fundraising efforts, Loyola Alumni can show support for their alma mater through participation in their respective Loyola College Alumni Association. Focused on sustaining lifelong relationships between the College and its Alumni, the associations strive to unite alumni in support of Loyola’s commitment to excellence and historic Jesuit tradition of men and women for and with others.
