Friday, November 8, 1996 -- Loyola swam away with solid victoies at the hands of the Howard Byson on Friday Night. Strong efforts came from up and down the rosters of the men's and women's teams.
Junior Will Bryant garnered two victories for the men with excellent performances in the one meter and three meter diving competitions. Classmate Dave Raver took honors in the 800 meter freestyle. Freshman John Moore captured the 200 and 400 meter freestyle events. In the opening event of the meet, the team of Mark Gallagher, Ryan Davis, Ken Sposato, and Ashley Loper won the 200 meter medley relay.
For the women, Freshman Jen Wood enjoyed her first triple victory meet of her college career with wins in the 200 meter freestyle, the 100 meter backstroke, and as a member of the 200 meter freestyle relay squad. Senior Pam O'Koren had an outstanding swim for victory in the 800 meter freestyle. Senior Amy Cole and Freshman Christine Gahagan took first and second in the 100 meter freestyle and were also members of the winning 200 freestyle relay team. Sophomore Star Moran won the 100 meter breastroke. Kathleen Griffin finished first in the one meter diving competition.
