Brian Loeffler
Head Coach - Seventh Year - Loyola '91

Brian Loeffler, a former four-year letterwinner on Loyola's swimming and diving team, begins his seventh season as head coach of the Greyhound swimming and diving program. During his tenure he has led the women's squad to four consecutative Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference titles (1992-96) while guiding the men to the 1994-95 championship and consistent top four finishes in each of his six years.

Prior to accepting the position as head coach in October 1992, Loeffler served as an assistant for the Greyhounds under Eric Van Nostrand. During his swimming career, Loeffler competed in the 200 meter backstroke and individual medley as well as several relays. He graduated holding several school records, including the 400 yard and 400 meter medley relays. Loeffler was also a member of 200 meter medley relay teams that recorded eight of the top 10 times in school history.

In 1991 Loeffler received a bachelor of arts degree from Loyola in management information systems. He then went on to earn his MBA from Loyola in 1994. He is a Baltimore native who graduated from Calvert Hall College in 1987. Loeffler, 29, works for the Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. as a systems analyst. He is married and lives with his wife, Sarah, and newborn son, Sam, in Baltimore.



Steve Giagrandi
Diving Coach - Fifth Year - Johns Hopkins '91

Steve Giangrandi is in his fifth year as the diving at Loyola. Three years ago, under Steve's guidance, the women divers scored 120 points (a 115-point improvement in one year) at MAAC Championships, making a significant contribution towards the women's fourth consecutive conference victory. A 1991 graduate of Johns Hopkins University, Giangrandi also received his master's degree in physical therapy from the University of Maryland. A Baltimore native, Giangrandi works for the Good Samaritan Hospital as a physical therapist.

Giangrandi started his diving career at Loyola High School and continued at Johns Hopkins, where he was a four year Division III All-American and team captain his senior year. He holds both the one and three meter pool and school records at Johns Hopkins.
