Loyola College Swiming and Diving Team

Welcome to the Loyola College in Maryland Swimming and Diving Team home page. Presently, this site is in transition. We apologize for any information that is not current. (This site was last updated on November 9, 1998.) Check out the newly updated Loyola records page, which features listings of Loyola's top 25 swimmers and divers in each event, as well as school and pool records.

On October 24th, the Greyhounds began their 1998-99 season with strong victories over Fairfield University. Travelling to Connecticut with a smaller squad than in past years, the men defeated the Stags by a score of 135-72. Sporting a MAAC championship caliber team, the Lady Hounds knocked a large Fairfield women's team down to size with a 127-107 triumph.

In February, the Hounds swam an excellent Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship meet in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. However, both the men's and women's team had to settle for third place in the conference. Check out coverage of Loyola swimming and diving at MAACs. Also, check out coverage from the meet on the MAAC web site.

At the Georgetown Invitational (Dec. 5-6, 1997), history was made as senior Mark Gallagher surpassed David Griesbauer to become Loyola's all-time leading point scorer. Congratulations Mark! Check out coverage of Loyola's meets from the 1997-98 season.
