Loyola College Profile

Loyola College in Maryland seeks to enroll students who subscribe to the ideals and objectives of the institution and who show preparation qualifying them to benefit from the liberal arts education it offers.  In addition, Loyola University seeks students who will become participating members in the college community of faculty and students; contribute to the intellectual growth of this community while achieving their own personal intellectual growth and development; develop a social awareness through participating in the co-curricular activities of the University; develop their understanding and appreciation of spiritual values; and benefit from participation in the University’s recreational and athletic programs.  The College welcomes applications from men and women of character, intelligence and motivation.

Affiliation:  Private; Catholic affiliated; operated under the auspices of the Jesuit Fathers, in conjunction with the Sisters of Mercy.  Students from all religious backgrounds are welcome.

Enrollment:  3,476 full-time students on the undergraduate level.

The College of Arts and Sciences
The College of Arts and Sciences is composed of twenty academic departments with 171 full-time faculty.  The College offers undergraduate degree programs in the traditional liberal arts, engineering, speech pathology/audiology, and education.  It also offers masters programs in computer science, education, modern studies, pastoral counseling, psychology and speech pathology/audiology.  There is a Ph.D. program in pastoral counseling and a Psy.D program in clinical psychology.

As a leading Baltimore business school, the Sellinger School of Business & Management at Loyola College in Maryland has built a reputation of offering the best in business education for the past three decades.  The Sellinger School provides the region with a full portfolio of undergraduate, graduate and executive programs. 

Follow-Up Survey on Recent Graduates
Each year a follow-up study is conducted six to nine months after graduation by The Career Center to give a more accurate picture of the graduates’ activities.  Since 1999, 68-73% of these graduates are employed full or part time.  Approximately 20-25% of these graduates continue their education through a graduate/professional school program.  The response rate is consistently high, with an average rate of 82.6%.  In the last five years of reporting these statistics, 72.4% of the graduates utilized The Career Center’s services while an undergraduate student.
