Career Resource Library
Visit the Career Resource Library located in the DeChiaro College Center, Room W002B, for reference materials and information on occupations, employers, graduate/professional schools, and other resources which can aid in career decision making. You will also find binders containing current job and internship leads for a variety of majors and interests.

This is a listing of some helpful on-line resources containing a wealth of information to assist you in writing resumes and cover letters, finding internships, obtaining salary information, applying to graduate school, and much more. Opportunities in government, business, non-profit, and abroad can be found. Please note that this list is by no means comprehensive nor does The Career Center endorse specific sites. There are unlimited internet resources. However, these are among the sites most frequently visited by college students.

Be aware that using the internet is ONLY one of many tools that will assist you with a well-planned, comprehensive, and thoughtful career search.

Career Net: This is a comprehensive website containing a searchable database of job listings in MD, NY, NJ, PA, MA as well as other regional, national and international job opportunities. It may be a good jumping-off point providing links to thousands of career-related sites on the Web. Career Net provides an extensive database of employers, outplacement firms, government offices, employment agencies both regional and local, and more.

NACE Web: This site offers a calendar of professional events and job fairs as well as links to other databases and career-related resources. Several publications such as Job Choices, an on-line Career Magazine that has geographical job listings, salary information, company profiles, graduate/professional school information and more are available.

National Career Development Association: The NCDA Web site lists numerous Internet sites for career planning including self assessment, salary information, job banks and employment trends. Click the "Consumers and Job Seekers" section for categorized links.

Salary.com: This is a terrific place to determine salary information based upon your age, education, industry, benefits, and geographical region. Obtain salary ranges to assist with interviewing and negotiation tactics.

Occupational Outlook Handbook: This reference by the Bureau of Labor Statistics is a comprehensive, searchable index of occupational information about the Nature of Work, Training, Salary, and Related occupations.

The Riley Guide: This site contains a directory of employment and career information sources and services. The Riley Guide provides instruction for job seekers on how to use the Internet to their best advantage as well as information on targeting and researching companies, resumes and cover letters, as well as job listings.

US News.com Work & Career: This is a good site for staying current on recent job market developments with articles focused on current trends. It provides helpful and up to date graduate school information and rankings.

Wetfeet.com: Research companies and industries quickly using this web site. Find free downloadable resources for information on Career Fairs, self-assessments, and more.
