Focus, a career and educational planning system, consists of the following self exploration assessments: current career planning status, interests and work values, education and training, personality and life values, leisure time preferences, and current or future skills.
(Strong Interest Inventory and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) Assess your interests and personality type relating to possible careers. Initial meeting with a career advisor is required.
Copies of the Book of Lists for several metropolitan cities are available in The Career Center for review. CareerSearch is an Internet-based, employer research database system. With this tool you can search more than 3.5 million companies worldwide, 250 publications, 9 million executives, 400 city reports, and more than 300,000 websites. This comprehensive system is available in Hounds4Hire. Uniworld is the publisher of American Firms Operating in Foreign Countries, a unique multinational business contact directory covering over 200 countries. This directory will provide contact information for headquarters, branches, subsidiaries, and affilitates of mulitnational firms in your area. Available only through Hounds4Hire.
CareerSpots offers short, informative, engaging job search videos with expert career advice from leading employers and career services professionals. Job Choices Job Choices, a resource from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), is now available in digital format. Get resume, cover letter and interview tips, find links to employer websites, learn how to market yourself to employers, obtain job search advice, and much more.
ExecuNet is recognized as the Internet's most comprehensive resource for effective career management, exclusively for executives and senior-level managers with salaries above $150,000. Through ExecuNet, you can gain access to daily executive job postings, job search and career advancement guidance and information, and monthly networking meeting opportunities. (Associated fee depending on membership; see website for details). Goinglobal offers expert advice and resources for finding jobs and internships both at home and abroad. Find more than 35,000 country-specific career and employment resources, corporate profiles for key employers in 31 countries, worldwide internship and job listings, and a global chat forum. Students can develop and upload resumes and cover letters, publish resumes for employer viewing, select on-campus interview times and search for jobs, internships, and employer information. Students can also gain access to company profiles using Hoovers Search. InternMatch is a free listing resource that helps students find internship opportunities. InternMatch highlights paid and summer internships while having a leading list of start up and non-profit positions. Internships.com is the largest database of up-to-date internships offered to students. There are postings for the U.S. as well as abroad. Their specialized job search engines cover the following fields: sales, marketing, finance, human resources, law, technology, operations, and more.
