In order to fully use modern technology in an academic setting, you must have access to the tools and training that allow you to step into the future. The FISH (Faculty Instructional Service Hangout) Lab gives you those tools and the knowledge you need to use them. Located in Maryland Hall 057A, the FISH lab is a high-end multimedia lab available to all faculty, administrators and staff. The theme of the FISH Lab is “Think outside the bowl.” The lab is equipped with two high-end IBM PCs and a Mac to support basic multimedia development including: Web design, creating and editing graphics, and creating or capturing and editing audio and video files. The computers are equipped with CD and DVD writers as well as flatbed scanners (with the capability to also scan slides). The FISH Lab is open to all Loyola faculty, staff and administrators. Feel free to stop by any time. We are open from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. You can even visit us during non-working hours; all it takes is a swipe of your ID card to get in! Or, if you would prefer, you can call us at x5305 to set up an appointment with one of our lab technicians. For more details on what we offer, please see our Services Offered page. With the recent Library upgrades, The Loyola Notre Dame library now offers media services in their Digital Lab. The Library’s lab is also available for student projects. For more information about what the library has to offer, please visit their Web site.
