Through the Technology Services group, Loyola provides computing facilities, telephone services, cable TV/video access and user support to all students, faculty, administrators and staff. Technology Services performs backups and preventive maintenance on the academic and administrative computers and network servers on a regular basis. Every effort is made to protect users’ computers from spam and viruses. However, Technology Services cannot be responsible for any loss of information that occurs due to a computer virus. As a user of Loyola’s technology, you are responsible for the following as they apply to you: - Reading academic, administrative and network login messages, information posted in lab facilities, e-mail from Technology Services and technology information in The NewsHound.
- Maintaining the security of your own accounts. You are responsible for any actions taken by anyone using your account. Therefore, don’t give your password to anyone.
- Notifying Technology Services of any new or changing access needs. (e.g., adding new employees, removing departing employees, establishing security parameters.) Account managers and supervisors are also responsible for training users of their data about privacy and security issues.
- Following the guidelines of the Information Sharing Committee (ISC) and the recommendations of the CORE Team regarding privacy, security and integrity of administrative data.
