Training Class Policies and Procedures

Notification of Training Classes

We will make every effort to notify the entire Loyola College community as new training classes and training class schedules.  Our primary method of communication is "Newshound," the College's daily e-mail news digest.  Occasionally, we may use "Blackboard News Flash" to communication with the College community.

All training classes will be listed on the Training Web site (http://www.loyola.edu/training/).  From this Web site, you can find a complete listing of training classes, dates and times and registration information.

Registration and Attendance

To attend a training class, you MUST register twenty-four (24) hours prior to the class.  Training classes, with registration information, are listed on the Training and Development Web site (http://www.loyola.edu/training/).

Training classes will be held only if there are three or more persons registered.  If you have signed up for a training class, and it is canceled because of this, you will be notified the day of the class via e-mail.  You will also be given the opportunity to re-register for another training class, or schedule a one-on-one class with a member of the Training and Development Team.

Additionally, if a class is canceled, a sign indicating that the class is canceled will be placed on the door of the computer lab.

Class Locations

All training classes are held in the Maryland Hall 240 computer lab unless otherwise specified.

If a class needs to be re-located, for whatever reason, the training team will notify you as soon as possible via e-mail.  Also, a sign indicating the re-location will be placed on the door of the  computer lab.

Class Duration

All training classes will usually be scheduled for one hour in length.  Classes are scheduled for this amount of time to allow for questions and comments during the class.  Please be aware that a class may run for the entire duration; however, there are times when the class may not require the entire length.  If you register for a training class, it is your responsibility to budget time for the entire class (including travel time to and from the location).

All classes will begin promptly at the time they are scheduled to begin and every attempt will be made to end the class in a timely manner.

Instructor Availability and/or Inclement Weather

If a training class is canceled because an instructor is unavailable or the College is closed due to inclement weather, every effort will be made to re-schedule the class with as many participants as possible.  The training team will work to find a time that is most convenient for all; however, we understand that some will be unable to participate.  Therefore, we will work to schedule a one-on-one class with those who are unable to attend the re-scheduled class.

Notifications of class cancellations will be given the day of the class via e-mail.  Furthermore, a sign indicated a class cancellation will be placed on the door of the computer lab.
