The first-year application process applies to first-year applicants as well as to other groups. With transfer students or international students, the admission committee reviews applications according to these policies and then reviews additional credentials presented by those applicants.
Application Deadlines
Applications are evaluated in two stages:
Early Action - November 1
Early Action is non-binding at Loyola The Early Action deadline is November 1. Students will be notified of their admission decision in writing by January 15. Students admitted through Early Action have until May 1, the National Candidates' Reply Date, to make their enrollment decision.
Regular Decision - January 15
The Regular Decision deadline is January 15. Students will be notified of their admission decision in writing by March
15. Students admitted through Regular Decision have until May 1, the National Candidates' Reply Date, to make their enrollment decision.
In some cases, applicants may be placed on a waitlist. Learn more about our waitlist policy.

How to Apply
Loyola Application: In addition to being more convenient for students the Loyola online application provides us with more specific information that we use to keep applicants informed on topics of interest.
Common Application: Loyola also welcomes the Common Application. Loyola requires the completion of a brief Common Application Supplement for the Common Application. The Common Application Supplement is available here. (The online version of the Common Application includes an online version of the Supplement.)
In addition to the application, students should submit the following:
- Official High School Transcript
- High School Counselor Recommendation
- High School Teacher Recommendation
- Essay
- $50 Application Fee
SAT and ACT scores are optional for admission. If a student does choose to submit standardized test scores, official score reports should be sent directly to Loyola University Maryland. Students who choose not to submit standardized test scores should submit an additional teacher recommendation or personal essay.

Annual Security and Fire Report (Clery Act)
Annual Security (Clery) and Fire Safety Reports, Including Missing Person Notification Policy
This is a copy of Loyola University's Annual Security and Fire Safety Report. This report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Loyola University Maryland; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning sexual assault, evacuation, missing person notification, and fire safety.
