THE LOYOLA EDGE

Loyola University Maryland works to ensure that an elite, Jesuit, liberal arts education is available to the most talented, motivated students entering college today. We offer multiple types of merit and need-based assistance for undergrads and 68 percent of our undergraduate students receive some form of financial aid. We believe Loyola represents an exceptional value in a private university education. But you don’t have to take our word alone:

  • Included in Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine 2009 list of
    Best Values in Private Universities
  • Ranked in the top 10 in the North region for
U.S. News’s “Great Schools, Great Prices”

DISTINCTLY PREPARED

Labeling a Loyola graduate isn’t
easy. But one word generally
applies: atypical.

Loyola brings together all the pieces of your potential—your intellect, interests, talents, personality—and transforms them into one balanced whole. Your mind, body, and spirit combine to create a distinctly prepared, confident leader who can adapt and thrive in an ever–changing world, with the foundation to succeed not only in a career, but in every aspect of your life. Loyola Greyhounds are ready for anything. Ready for everything.

LOYOLA LASTS A LIFETIME

Being a Greyhound doesn’t end on graduation day. It’s an investment in a lifelong community that feels like a second family. When you become a Greyhound, you join a select society that helps take care of its own. Greyhounds are as loyal to Loyola, and each other, as their canine namesakes. You’ll never lack for advice and support—whether finding your way around campus during your first week, or landing that big job interview through a Loyola alum. These are people that you’ll work with, play with—and most of all—bond with from here on out.

RANKINGS, STATISTICS & COMPARISONS

PULLING RANK ON PRIVATE EDUCATION.

Educators, economists, parents, and pollsters agree that Loyola University Maryland is recognized as a great university on many levels—from our professors’ credentials to economic value to quality of life. And when you look at the facts, this comes as no surprise. After all, 79 percent of students graduate in four years—compared to the national five-year graduation rate for private, selective colleges (65 percent). Eighty-two percent of our 321 faculty members hold Ph.D.s or terminal degrees, and 65 percent of students receive some form of financial aid. We could keep going, but we’ll let the facts speak for themselves.
