Hauber Research Program Poster SessionSpecial Events

2:15 - 6:00 p.m. | Atrium outside Boulder Garden
Fifteen students who participated in the Hauber Summer Research Program at Loyola this summer will present posters explaining their research. The students will be available to discuss their research from 2:15 - 4:30 p.m. After the students leave, the posters will remain in the atrium until 6 p.m.

Loyola celebrates designation change to Loyola University MarylandSpecial Events

Loyola College in Maryland will celebrate its official transition to Loyola University Maryland. In addition to remarks by Loyola President Brian F. Linnane, S.J., the convocation will feature a keynote address by Georgetown University President John J. DeGioia, Ph.D. DeGioia and His Excellency Archbishop Edwin O’Brien of Baltimore will receive Doctor of Humane Letters degrees, honoris causa—the first degrees awarded by Loyola University Maryland.

The convocation is open to the entire university and alumni community as well as the media, and will also feature the unveiling of key elements of the new Loyola University Maryland branding strategy, including the transformed Loyola Web site.

Loyola University Maryland will celebrate the official launch of its School of Education with an inaugural convocation. After an introduction by Loyola President Brian F. Linnane, S.J., Nancy S. Grasmick, Ph.D., Maryland state superintendent of schools, will offer the convocation’s opening remarks. Peter C. Ellen J. Kullman, chief executive officer of DuPont, will be honored with the 2009 Business Leader of the Year Award by Loyola's Joseph A. Sellinger, S.J., School of Business and Management. John Dinkel, publisher of the Baltimore Business Journal, will serve as the master of ceremonies.
