Loyola Hosts Multimedia Festival on Improving Urban Education
Winners of public service announcement contest to be revealed

Loyola University Maryland’s School of Education will host a multimedia festival showcasing Maryland students’ and teachers’ ideas on how to improve urban education on Tuesday, April 6. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 7 – 8:30 p.m. in McGuire Hall on the University’s North Charles Street campus.

The event includes the screening of all entries submitted to the School’s recent multimedia contest, which sought audio, video, animated, musical, and other types of public service announcements discussing innovative ways to face today’s challenges in urban education. Winners will be announced in four categories:

• Ages 14 – 17
• Ages 17 – 22
• Teachers or student/teacher collaborations

The multimedia festival is part of a series of talks, panel discussions, readings, and other programs sponsored by the School’s Center for Innovation in Urban Education (CIUE) and designed to promote dialogue on education in Baltimore, as well as deeper understanding of the need for a new vision of urban education.
