John T. Everett ,Assistant Adjunct Professor joined the Loyola University faculty as a full-time Instructor in 2002 after working for three years as an Adjunct Professor of Marketing in the school's Professional MBA program. Mr. Everett has taught Business Policy and International Business to Loyola's undergraduates and now focuses on undergraduate Business Policy, including teaching in the Sellinger Scholars program. At the graduate level, he currently teaches strategy in the Professional MBA, the Fellows MBA, the Emerging Leaders MBA and occasionally lectures in the Executive MBA. In addition, he teaches a course in Personal Effectiveness in the Professional MBA. Mr. Everett employs a variety of teaching methods across these programs, including a "live cases" approach in his Fellows classes, guiding student teams through a consultancy experience while providing pro bono planning services to a wide range of Maryland regional businesses and organizations.
Some of Mr. Everett's project contributions to the Loyola community include: the 2006 Departmental Review project, program assessment at both the graduate and
undergraduate levels and strategic planning for the Professional MBA. He has served on a number of standing and ad hoc committees, including various MBA Partners Committees, the Professional MBA Curriculum Committee, numerous ad hoc planning committees and currently serves as a member of The Sellinger School's Curriculum Committee. Mr. Everett is co-chair of the Executive/Fellows MBA Residency, is the regular lecturer in the Professional MBA Orientation and coordinates the graduate field studies in Gettysburg.
Despite the fact that Mr. Everett has no responsibility to publish, he has recently co-authored and gotten accepted two academic papers that focus on issues of organizational behavior.
Career in Telecommunications
Mr. Everett's business career reflects a wide range of experience and increasing
responsibility in a series of companies, including AT&T, the C&P Telephone
Companies, the Bell Atlantic Corporation and the Verizon Corporation. His experience includes executive and management responsibilities in engineering, marketing, government relations, public relations, consumer relations, strategic planning and project management.
Strategic Solutions Consulting, Inc.
Mr. Everett is President and Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Solutions Consulting, Inc. (SSC). He started the company in 2004, after concluding a thirty-year career in the telecommunications industry. SSC focuses primarily on medium and small business and non-profit organizations, offering its clients a range of practical business planning, including Business Plans, Strategic Plans, Market Plans, Operations Plans, Information Systems planning and general process analysis and improvement. The company continues to grow rapidly in response to requests from business colleagues, former students and contacts in the Maryland Community.
Among the organizations for which Mr. Everett has provided planning are: The National Aquarium in Baltimore, 1st Mariner Bank, The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, Advance Business Systems, About Faces Day Spas and Salons, Loyola University Maryland, Sea-Fire Marine, R. F. Hager Construction, AnalySYS Business Systems, Standard Auto Parts, Carter Control Systems, The Senator Theater, Interiors By Lynn Korpman, Heavy Seas Brewery and others.
Mr. Everett has also provided pro bono planning services for The Baltimore Symphony Players Union, The Children's Guild, St. Ignatius Loyola Academy, Genetic Counselors, Inc. and a number of other organizations providing non-profit services in the Baltimore and Maryland Communities.
Mr. Everett's first historical novel, Plug Ugly Ball, is scheduled for publication in the fall of 2012. A second work is completed and publication planned for 2013.
Mr. Everett has earned a BA from Mount Saint Mary's University, an MBA from Loyola and a Masters of Liberal Arts from The Johns Hopkins University.
Mr. Everett is a native Baltimorean, has strong connections throughout Maryland's business community, has two children and lives with his wife of thirty-nine years in Phoenix, Maryland.
