5 News Tips for Parents Evergreen Card Now Accepted at Local Retailers Loyola students can now use their Evergreen cards at participating off-campus businesses. This new program, BbOne, allows students to swipe their Evergreen cards at pizza parlors, pharmacies and cafes instead of paying with cash or credit. Class of 2011 Sets Record At 990, the Class of 2011 ranks as the largest in Loyola College history, according to figures from the College’s Office of Undergraduate Admission. The class, the result of a record-setting applicant pool of 8,594, hails from 27 states and eight countries. Nearly 40 percent ranked in the top 10 percent of their high school classes, and six were named valedictorian. Loyola Acquires local neighborhood Townhomes Loyola College has completed the purchase of 41 townhomes in the neighborhood known as Gallagher Park, adjacent to the College off of Notre Dame Lane. The College, which has owned one Gallagher Park townhome for a number of years, began extensive renovation efforts on these properties this fall, and plans to ready them for occupation no later than the beginning of the Fall 2008 semester. Discussions continue regarding which Loyola Community members would be the most appropriate residents of these buildings. New Major and Minor Offered Students at Loyola College will have a new major to choose from beginning this fall-Art History. The Maryland Higher Education Commission has endorsed the program, which was previously offered as a concentration within the College’s Fine Arts major. In addition, Loyola’s History department and the department of Modern Languages and Literatures have created a Latin-American and Latino Studies minor. Loyola Links Is your student homesick?
